Additional Information

This period townhouse offers spacious family accommodation which is full of charm and character and the mature gardens with southerly aspect are a particularly appealing feature. We've invited the vendors to give a personal perspective on life in 59 which is at the end of the brochure. One of the most desirable aspects of this property is the flexibility to accommodate quality family living, space to 'work from home' and or granny flat space. The atmosphere of the house is enhanced by feature fireplaces, original log burning stoves and quarry tiled floors. The double glazed sash windows are complemented by oil fired central heating and solar panels. There is off street parking for several cars accessed by double doors and a feature arched area.

During the twenty two years we have lived in this house we have transformed it into a comfortable, spacious and aesthetically-pleasing home. This is one of the few townhouses in Crossgar that has been sensitively modernised but still retains most of its original features.
It is located in the heart of the village with schools, shops, medical, and other facilities all within walking distance. The rear of the house faces south and the long garden has been re-developed with both wildlife conservation and self-sufficiency in mind. We grow our own fruit and vegetables, mainly in raised beds, and have put up a greenhouse for growing tomatoes, cucumbers and other salad vegetables.
The hedge comprises flowering shrubs, which attracts bees and other wildlife, and the pond supports a population of newts and frogs. The garden shed has ample storage space and a workbench for carrying out DIY tasks. All in all the garden provides a haven of peace and tranquillity and one can enjoy hours of quiet contemplation just observing the diverse range of wildlife in and around the pond.
This house would be ideal for a family where different activities can be pursued in the various living rooms. The conservatory is probably our favourite room and this is where we spend most of our time when indoors.
We have always felt safe in this house; it is a cosy home and would recommend it as a home in which we've really enjoyed living. The excellent public transport facilities is something to really appreciate.
