As you know, I invited UPS, along with two other local estate agents in Belfast to value my late parent's house, in order to sell the property as quickly as possible for the best possible price as it was forming part of an estate for which I was acting as an administrator.
Under normal circumstances this would have been a fairly easy sale from an estate agents point of view except for the fact that the house was seriously in need of a lot of repair, so ideally we were looking for a developer, and secondly, I live in England, so I needed to find an agent whom I could trust and rely on totally to carry out my instructions.
Gareth you did all of this and more. As for the other estate agents, what can I say? I was given all the normal sales platter along with unrealistic valuations, but what really annoyed me was the fact that they couldn't even be bothered to follow up with either a telephone call or letter to find out what decision I had come to. As a former sales person, I believe that communication should be a priority. I also believe that 'people buy people' and that it doesn't matter how good a company is or how good their product/service may be, if you do not like/trust the person you are dealing with then you will not use that company. From the moment we met you my husband and I both agreed that you would be the agent to sell my parent's house.
You followed up with a telephone call as promised; and kept me informed every step of the way - ringing me every couple of weeks again as promised (and more frequently when needed). When I went off on holiday for two weeks as we were approaching the final stages, you kept in close contact with both parties' solicitors so that when I returned home from holiday we were ready to exchange in a few weeks.
